We’ve Already Won

And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.

Romans 8:28 – ESV

In the face of relentless opposition, our journey towards establishing the gravel pit has been fraught with challenges. We’ve been blessed to withstand a barrage of attacks, baseless accusations, and fear-mongering tactics. Yet, amidst this turmoil, we have found tranquility and a peace that surpasses all understanding, gifted to us by God. This serenity is not rooted in the absence of conflict but in the assurance of Christ’s sovereign reign over both the seen and unseen. We stand firm in the belief that He will guide us to an outcome that refines us in the likeness of His son.

The opposition we face is formidable, but it pales in comparison to the might of God. The scripture’s promise echoes in our hearts, “If God is for us, who can be against us?” This journey, regardless of its destination, is a transformative one. It is a masterclass in humility, a test of courage, and a lesson in unconditional love, even towards those who stand against us. It has taught us to face adversity with confidence and forgiveness, knowing that our character is being shaped in these challenges.

Moreover, this experience has been a conduit for unexpected blessings. The trials have afforded us new relationships and connections. We have crossed paths with a diverse network of individuals, each encounter enriching our lives in ways we never anticipated. In this sense, regardless of the tangible outcome, we have already won. The real victory lies in the personal growth we’ve experienced and the community we’ve built. In this adventure, the true wealth isn’t in the gravel we seek to unearth but in the spiritual and relational treasures we’ve already uncovered.

This pilgrimage has also illuminated the profound importance of long-term thinking, a principle deeply ingrained in our faith. As believers in Christ’s lordship over the earth, we understand that our actions and decisions today ripple into the future, shaping a legacy that extends beyond the immediate. This perspective encourages us to look past the challenges and focus on the enduring impact of our adventure. In recognizing Christ’s eternal sovereignty, we are reminded that our work is not just for the present moment but for a future that aligns with His divine plan. Our commitment to this gravel pit and reclamation project, therefore, transcends the immediate gains; it is an exercise in stewardship, a testament to our faith in God’s overarching purpose for His creation. By embracing this long-term vision, we anchor our efforts not in the shifting sands of current trials, but in the solid ground of truth and purpose.
